Merry almost Christmas, everyone!
Christmas is always such a fun, special time, and we had an absolute BLAST with all of our awesome families and couples this year!
We have known Jackson since he was 11 years old, playing drums for the church youth band. He is an incredible musician who participates in the Houston Youth Symphony. When you think of Jackson, you think of DRUMS. For this senior session, he even brought his own kit to the shoot.
Kendall and Blake live in New Braunfels, which happens to be a gorgeous location for an engagement shoot! We chose Landa Park, and the diverse scenery, beautiful park, changing leaves, and breathtaking, hill-country, landscape serve as a stunning backdrop. We look forward to celebrating their wedding with them in June!
This couple could NOT have picked a more beautiful venue for their shoot! The Peach Orchard is brimming with lovely backdrops and dazzling scenery. Melissa and Joe are super sweet and easy-going, giving off a calm excitement that shines through in their photographs. The classy, modern, décor gave this shoot an upscale vibe.
Our associate, Megan, did this session and we’re thrilled on how it turned out! Ella and Megan met and serve together at Valiant Church on Galveston island, where Ella has invited many of her college friends. Ella’s studies and tattoos were driven by her passion for the ocean, so naturally, she wanted to her photos to showcase that passion by taking some photos right on the beach near Galveston Pleasure Pier.
After graduation, she plans to continue her post-grad studies at Oceans Research Institute in South Africa. (how cool!) We can’t wait to see your success and adventures, Ella!
April 10, 2018 marked our second year as husband and wife! Our celebration included a stay at the immaculate Hotel Alessandra, a movie date, massages and relaxation time at Fiori Day Spa, being chauffeured in a Maserati (SO FREAKING COOL) to dinner at the impeccable Potente Restaurant in downtown Houston, brunch at Bosscat Kitchen & Libations, which is now one of our favorite brunch spots, and ultimately, just enjoying each other's company. :) Also, we couldn't celebrate a milestone without some pictures, so in true Josh & Mikala fashion, we set up our tripod for some fancy selfies. ;)
Christine lost her father in late 2017, so when she decided to do her maternity photos, Christine had the wonderful idea to honor and dedicate the photos to her later father. Seeing as he had been the pilot of Apache helicopters during his time in the military, what better way to honor him than to take photos with the very choppers that he flew! We knew that this was a very special and powerful session, and were all in when she pitched us the idea. I am glad that we were allowed on base, because we LOVE her session and the meaning behind the setting!
Sweet Samara made her grand entrance on February 21, almost exactly two weeks before her due date! Rumor has it, Samantha even drove herself to the hospital since Tito was at work- beast mode! We were so thrilled to be able to meet this teeny one on her 6th day, and are in love with her and the memories of her that we were able to capture for their family!
Mika (Meek-a, I've got your back, girl- I understand the struggle lol) and James were just the absolute sweetest couple! They had their very intimate ceremony and reception on December 30, right before the new year, and boy, we couldn't think of a better way to start the new year than married to your best friend! The place was all smiles, and a few tears as sweet Mika and James said their "I do"'s, and tied blue ribbon around each others' fingers to signify their promise to love and cherish each other through the good and the bad, through sickness and in health, which, I am positive meant more to this couple than we realized at the time.
